Education is important for every individual in a nation. It plays a vital role to change the stare of a country. No country could bring a revolution in it unless its people are educated enough to meet the challenges. Education makes a man realize about himself and his goals and how to achieve that goal.
Everyone is aware of the importance of technical education. It helps students to develop theoretical and practical knowledge. It plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life. It refers to skill-based education, where practical skills are taught.
Today the advancements made in the field of science and engineering has made life sophisticated and moreover, has improved the quality of life.
The whole world is rising on the strength of scientific innovations. Every day new products are flooding the market. Almost as soon as we buy the latest smartphone the competing brand brings out a new model with advanced features, possibly at a lesser cost. But just with an engineering degree with no ability to apply that knowledge is not sufficient. That is the main reason we see engineering graduates unable to get jobs. They have high marks, but they are unable to apply the knowledge they have learned.
A suitable job and a great career also depend on one’s technical skills and the ability to learn new skills. Technical education should include practical sessions and skills so that our engineering graduates are job ready when they graduate.
In addition, we should accept that technicians like plumbers, draftsmen, carpenters, electricians, fitters, mechanics, etc. have the practical technical knowledge, and are more employable, and many are self-employed.
Technical education should be given top most priority. It builds a level of confidence and a sense of self-respect in every individual. If a country has enough of its skilled manpower, it will not depend on other nations or believe in collaborating with developed countries.
