Blood can save the life of a woman before and after the birth of the child. It is needed in case of complications in pregnancy, hemorrhage, people who are suffering from anemia, cancer patients and at the time of accidental emergency and in case of medical & surgical treatment.
Those people who are suffering from the condition of thalassemia and sickle cell disease need a regular transfusion. A healthy person can donate blood regularly to ensure that blood is available in the blood bank whenever and wherever there is need. A pint of blood generates 2 or 3 transfusable product.
